Chinney Construction Company Limited was awarded the contract for the Builder’s Works for the Renovation of The Bauhinia Hotel (Central) and Service Apartment at 119-121 Connaught Road Central, Hong Kong.  The project involves refurbishing the existing 20-storey hotel building, designed by AGC Design Limited.

The scope of the project includes the removal of the existing building envelope and the installation of a new facade of Curtain Wall and Window Wall systems on the front and side elevations, all with external LED lighting system and with the innovated / environmental external glass system i.e. the Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) glasses. The back elevation is replastered and repainted. Internally, the guest rooms, apartments and office areas are reconfigured and completed with elegant decorations and luxury furniture. 

The project comprises 44 hotel guest rooms on the 1st to 3rd floors, a single kitchen, sitting area, laundry, administration office, and maintenance workshop on the 4th floor, and 112 service apartments on the 5th to 18th floors. Additionally, there are three executive rooms on the 19th floor.

To address discrepancies between the existing structure and the new design, regular coordination meetings are held with the architect and consultants to resolve and to overcome all significant technical issues.
